- Successfully secured from Department of Transportation $28.4 million in federal highway funds to California
- Secured $4.1 million to fund Santa Anas Bristol Street redevelopment project
- Secured $14.8 million for Anaheims ARCTIC transportation project
- Successfully led year after year the annual fight to secure much needed federal dollars for the Santa Ana River Flood Control Project
- Secured $200,000 in relocating funds to move tenants living in Santa Ana slum areas
- Successfully pressured the Department of Housing and Urban Development to correct a formula used to determine eligibility for federal housing funds reopening Anaheim, Garden Grove, and Santa Ana opportunities for funding
- Secured $667,000 for the City of Westminsters community housing projects
- Broke through a sea of federal red tape to facilitate the construction of a four acre police and fire training center in Santa Anas Centennial Park
- Successfully secured inclusion of Santa Ana in the federal "Weed and Seed" Anti Crime program
- Secured funding for the construction of a federal courthouse in Santa Ana and fought to name it the Ronald Reagan Courthouse.
- Facilitate the cleanup of groundwater at El Toro Marine Corps Air Station
- Helped to obtain $600,000 in federal funds for Rancho Santiago College
- Helped to obtain $335,597 in federal funds for Cerritos Community College to help the college assist the economically and socially disadvantaged
- Sponsored the "Breast Health Awareness Fair" at Rancho Santiago College to provide information on breast cancer
- Secured $70 million in 1996 for the Santa Ana River Flood Control Project and $52 million for Fiscal year 1997
- Successfully fought to include authorization for "Phase 1" of the Orange County Regional Water Reclamation Project
- Included a provision in the newly passed Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act to empower Anaheim, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, and other 46th district cities to apply for federal reimbursement for incarcerating criminal aliens
- Secured another provision in the Illegal Immigration bill to extend a pilot program at the Anaheim City Jail to help identify illegal criminal aliens prior to arraignment (Sanchez tried to kill this program)
- Bob voted to fight fraud and abuse in the Medicare program
- Bob voted to expand options for seniors, including EXPANDED BENEFITS without raising co-payments of deductibles!
- Bob voted to repeal Clintons 1993 tax increase on Social Security Benefits.
- Bob voted to limit the states liability to tax certain pension income, letting seniors keep more of the pension they've earned
- Bob voted for an "eldercare" tax deduction to make it easier for ill or infirm seniors to be cared for at home by their children
- Bob voted to stop the federal government from allowing fund managers to invest pensions in risky social welfare projects
